Ahh, so today, day 6 of the intermitted fasting and actually pretty interesting. It started with a disappointing realization that I was not going to eat. I got all excited about going to have some breakfast only to realize that it wasn’t in the stars for today. None the less I persisted.
A slight throbbing headache followed my waking which I am not convinced was related to the fasting. Probably more likely due to the dehydration and stress of being in the cold and dark climate. I also felt a weariness and light depression that was pretty bothersome but I attribute these symptoms to the same cause as before. I have been working long hours at work and then putting in more time on my personal business.
I woke hungry but only stated hungry until my cup of morning herbal tea. Other than that I don’t think I felt hungry all day long.
I must admit to a slight cheat today that I am not counting in the grand scheme of things. I ate two fresh jalapeno peppers, they couldn’t have been more than 100 calories between the two of them so I am not too worried about the whole thing. They certainly are not very filling and I actually thought it could be interesting to see how they would make me feel. I have a particular affinity for hot stuff and I thought I may have some strange reaction during the fast.
After work I did a 40 minute run at between and 8 and 9 minute pace. I was not expecting to really have any energy but I felt great. Probably partly to do with my new flexibility but I also felt light as a feather. I wouldn’t say I was bursting with energy but I also didn’t bonk before I quite. Now I am curious to see how the lifting goes.
Weighed in at 199.2 which is .6 pounds lighter than last fast day. I think I may have not had my shoes on during my first weigh in, in which case I lost even more weight. So far it is nothing to write home about but I am just one week into it. Curious to see how the rest of it goes.
One interesting thing I did notice is that while fasting I seem to much more susceptible to the cold. And my muscle soreness from previous workout seems to have increased.
